The Proposal

His proposal was not a one day thing, everything started on Valentine's day 2013.
Niko sent me the most beautiful flower arrangement at work; later that day he gave me an envelope that had multiple pages which at the end revealed a surprise trip whose destination was a surprise.
The time for the so awaited trip arrived at the end of May. Knowing how big of a packer I am ( if you have ever travel with me you know what I'm talking about) Niko took screenshots of the weather forecast that gave me ideas for what to pack...
The trip started with four days in Barcelona, a night in Istanbul where we took a Mediterranean Cruise to the Greek Islands, Egypt, Turkey finishing in Athens. Just when I thought the trip was over, Niko had another destination planned. The most exciting part of this whole experience was that all the destinations were a secret. I would only find out our next stop when we where at the airport.
Our final destination was Paris, the city of love, one of the fashion capitals of the world and one of my favorite cities. We were there for four days in which we visited all the main touristic attractions, Notre Dame Cathedral, Museum of Louvre, Sacre Coeur, Champs Elysees, Moulin Rouge. By the last day we were exhausted and just wanted to relax. We spend the afternoon walking around, we tied a lock with our names at Pont des Amoreux, then threw the keys into the river as a sign that our love is eternal, never to be broken other than by God. Then we took a cruise on the Siene river to experience the city from another point of view.
Our trip on the river finished right in front of the Eiffel Tower, where Niko decided that it would be a good idea to have a picnic and just enjoy our view of the city's most important icon.
We sat on the grass, and ate our dinner as the glow of the lights from the Eiffel Tower illuminated our romantic picnic. Once we finished eating our French delicacy we decided to just lay on the grass and stare at the giant metallic structure, without ignoring the stunning white glow of the moon on the clear night sky. After talking about how amazing our trip had been and how just the fact of being together made everything a thousand time better; Niko decided to sit upright and get something from his backpack. With one hand inside his bag but without really pulling anything out of it, he started talking. His voice was a little bit shaky, when he started describing everything he felt in his heart at that moment, but more importantly by finalizing saying how he wanted to feel that way forever and how much he hated to say goodbye to me every night. That is when he pulled his hand out of the bag, and while still on his palm he slowly opened his hand revealing a very small box. As box's top cover revealed the inside, I saw a ring shinning as bright as the tower. That is when he look right into my eyes and said: "Will you marry me?"
